The present article examines the validity of some great truths uttered by a Hindu Monk which in his words 'are simple because they are of universal application' in the year 1893.1 These universal principles were eventually acknowledged and verified by classical physicists in unequivocal terms, because the basic goal of religion and science, if permitted to say, is more or less same - the quest of knowledge that identify infinite in the finite.References

The word ‘religion’ signifies a system of faith and faith related activity. The essence of all religions culminates into development of humanity, which revolves around the development of certain values. These values as Albert Einstein said, ultimately “liberate mankind as far as possible from the bondage of egocentric cravings, desires, and fears, scientific reasoning can aid religion in yet another sense.” Righteousness and forbearance in Hinduism, non-violence in Jainism, compassion in Buddhism, unity in Zoroastrianism, service with love in Christianity, fraternity in Islam and valour in Sikhism are all complementary to each other. Though these values become the priority of their respective religions, they fall within the scope of ‘dharma’ in Indian concept because the latter signifies adoption of goodness. This goodness is the outcome of pure spirituality.

A well established scientific law carries both certainty and authenticity of truth which is universal at all time and places. The logic of scientific method is a way of establishing how science can arrive at universal laws of particular instances. This problem has drawn the attention of philosophers since Aristotle. If the laws of science are universally valid, then they should embody a necessary relationship. To say that ‘AH metals expand on heating’ is to affirm a necessary relationship between heating of metals and expansion.
